The end of the British Empire

To tackle the issue of the independence of the colonies, we watched Ghandi, the film. Then we watched four extracts from the film at American Rhetoric and the students had to choose one they liked and take down notes of one particular quotation they wanted to comment on. Timeline of the Twentieth Century

For the first unit of the subject, our objective was to have an overview of the twentieth century. We worked on a timeline of main events (20th century history www.about.com) and then the students chose one topic they were specially interested in, to track it down the century. They presented their research both in written form and orally, aided by posters or powerpoints. All the works were really nice. Now I'd like the "researchers" to comment on their own topics or their classmates'.
